As your main shop window to prospects and customers alike, your website needs to be as perfect as possible. It needs to rank well in search engines, look great, and have copy that grabs the reader and doesn’t let go until they’ve converted.
I’m a freelance B2B web content writer, and whether you’re looking to grow, refresh, or completely overhaul your website, I’m your man.
I’m best involved once you’ve got your SEO strategy in place. I can either work to a wireframe of what you want your website to look like, or write content that your designers can then slot into their templates – whatever works best for you, and them.
Once you’ve briefed me, I’ll spend time learning about your products and services, and getting to know your brand (I know that lots of web refreshes are done at the same time as a brand refresh).
We’ll nail down a list of pages you’d like me to work on, keywords for each, and then I’ll get writing!
While I know how SEO works and can write SEO-optimised copy based on provided keywords, I don’t have the tools to advise you about which keywords you should be optimising each page for. I can recommend many SEO agencies and freelancers who can offer that service, though.
I do not offer web design as a service, but I know many talented web designers. If you’d like, I can recommend some for you to approach for your project.
I can also make design recommendations as I go – suggesting where CTA buttons go, where you might want an accordion, and so forth. But those decisions should always be run past your designer before you implement them.
Yes! I can create copy for B2B campaign microsites and landing pages, alongside accompanying email copy and blog copy.
I can, if you would like me to. If you have a subscription to an image library, I can look through it to suggest imagery. If you’ve got a library of iconography and imagery from a recent brand refresh, I can also work with that.
Note that if you would like me to purchase extra images for you, that will increase the overall cost of the project.
The cost of B2B web copywriting can vary greatly depending on the size of the site and the design of the pages.
As a VERY rough guide, I charge about £150-£250 per page. You can scale that up to your own website project – but to get an accurate quote, it’s always best to get in touch.
I would aim to turn around a page within one week of being briefed. Depending on what other projects I have one, I can of course handle multiple pages in tandem. The best way to find out how quickly you can get your website copy is to get in touch and discuss your project, at which point I can look at my calendar and give you an estimated completion date.
I’m an experienced WordPress and Umbraco user, and I can upload your approved copy into pre-created template pages if you would like me to. I wouldn’t recommend this for initial drafts, however, as it’s a lot of work if we then change some of the words around!
The first step is a briefing call to discuss why you’re rewriting your website, and what metrics you are tracking.
Once that is clear, we’ll work on the technical bits: the sitemap, the SEO brief for each page, and confirming what templates you have for the various pages.
Then I’ll get writing! I’ll share draft copy with you as it is completed, and if we are working on a larger website we might have weekly check-ins to make sure everything is progressing on track.
You’ll get final delivery of the pages in a Word Document – and then, if you’d like, I’ll upload them to your website for you.
